After much difficult deliberation, we have finally decided that this fall, Walker will begin work as a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of Washington in Seattle. !!! We feel confident that Seattle is the right place for us. People and academic opportunities at UW that appeal to Walker, diverse and exploration-worthy city, captivating outdoor adventure possibilities by land or sea, relatively temperate weather, good church community, and fresh, delicious fish! Though the clouds still cast a small shadow over my sun-loving disposition, I feel satisfied that we have made the right choice. Ultimately, we prayed for guidance, and this is the answer we got.
So, here is our little schedule: 24 May - Walker graduates; his family visits (and we celebrate our 2nd anniversary!). 28 May - ABF UPack picks up our nifty Relocube and starts driving it to Seattle, where it will be stored for 30 days. 29 May - leave for Florida to visit the Frahms. 23 June - fly back to Connecticut and stay a few days. 26-28 June - begin driving to Seattle! 5-7 July - arrive in Seattle.
Atticus crawls and babbles all day long--and sometimes at all hours of the night, too. His hair is finally starting to fill in--a soft, radiant red that gives me constant satisfaction. :)
